Child Safety and Seat Policy

Child Safety Seat Policy

Able Airport Shuttle does not provide child safety seats or booster seats
of any kind. Parents and guardians traveling with children are responsible
for supplying an appropriate, properly installed child restraint device for
their child.

Under Florida law (Statute 316.613), children under the age of 5 must be
secured in a separate child restraint device at all times while in a moving
vehicle. Children ages 5 and 6 must be restrained by either a child
restraint device or a seat belt. As a for-hire vehicle operator, Florida
law places the responsibility for providing the child restraint device on
the parent or guardian, not the driver.

What this means for your booking:

– If you are traveling with a child under age 5, you must bring your own
rear-facing, forward-facing, or booster seat appropriate for your child’s
age and weight.

– Your child restraint seat must be brought to the vehicle at the time of
pickup. Our drivers are not able to delay or hold departures while
passengers locate or retrieve a seat.

– If a child requiring a restraint seat is present and no seat has been
provided, our driver reserves the right to decline the trip for safety
reasons. In this case, the standard cancellation policy applies.

– We recommend consulting your airline regarding policies for checking or
gate-checking child safety seats at no additional charge — most major
carriers allow this.
